Simple Engineering is a student group dedicated to promoting creative thinking and hands on engineering at Duke University. The group was founded by Willie Du and Jason Greenhut in Fall ’07 as a response to a desire for more opportunities for design for engineers. The primary interaction with the Pratt community has been through design challenges organized for small groups of students and faculty at e-socials. With help from Dean Linda Franzoni and generous sponsorship from the Engineering Alumni Council we have hosted many design challenges.

Beginning in Fall 2009, Simple Engineering will be partnering with ASME to host its activities. ASME's members will help design and cater the challenges at e-socials.  This partnership should serve to bolster the activity of both clubs and ensure continuity in the future.  To join ASME or Simple Engineering, please contact Willie Du via email: w.du at duke dot edu.
